Geoffrey Fisher Art

about the artist

After experimenting with many different styles of painting from my studio in Surrey I am now striving to produce work that would sit well on my walls at home rather than following any trends.

I try to draw the viewer into the picture so that it remains an object of constant interest rather than just ‘wallpaper’ that soon becomes unnoticed.

Impressionism, photography and perspective are my sources of inspiration and so my work tends to incorporate these three elements. So far acrylics work best for me as I try to capture the light that is such a feature of impressionism. It’s satisfying to put on many layers of paint and see how the colours underneath can contribute to the final result, sometimes quite unintentionally.

Please contact me should you be interested in any of my work.
